With just one week to go, until the Quaynote Palma Superyacht Conferences kick off in Mallorca, the organisers have announced a full program of topical and engaging subjects to be discussed and debated, with something for everyone who makes their living on, or around superyachts.
Close to 200 delegates and specialist participants from the global superyacht industry are destined to be there over the two days, but there are still a few places left, and you can register online now, by clicking one of these links : REFIT & REPAIR CAPTAIN & CREW
And if you really can’t make it to Palma de Mallorca, there will be a live Twitter feed bringing regular updates from the conferences as the various sessions and panel debates unfold throughout the day. These can be accessed by using the hash tag: #QN15PALMA or visiting: YachtMedia on Twitter.
Timed to coincide with the Palma Superyacht Show which opens on the same day (Thursday 30th April,) the Quaynote events are giving lots of professionals from the global superyacht industry a great excuse to travel to the sunshine island, and make maximum use of their time there. They will be able to catch up on latest developments in Refit & Repair of yachts, or to discuss career issues and charter regulations for Captains & Crew, as well as visiting the highly successful yacht show, where up to 60 yachts of over 24 metres are expected to be on show during the 3rd Edition of the event.
As an example sessions on Commercial Contracts, Project Management, Interior Designs and Application of Coatings give a wide appeal to the Refit & Repair day, which finishes with a raft of really practical Champagne Round-Table sessions, each one hosted by experts in their field, who will invite questions and comments from smaller dedicated groups of ten or 12 delegates.
These include subjects on products and processes related to refit projects such as: Waste Water Treatment, Fire & Safety, Heating Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Flat Panel Satellite Antennas, Fireproofing of Interior Furnishings, Specifying for Interior Refits, Antifouling Paints, and the Captain’s Role in a Typical Refit Project, which is bound to attract some lively discussion!
On day 2, captains and crew will be able to hear information and panel discussions on matters such as: Developing a Career Path, Interior Crew Training, The New Captains License Explained, Changing STCW Requirements, MLC Compliance Issues, Duty of Care, Firefighting Onboard, Superyacht Crew Recruitment, and a practical demo on engine/generator temperature control.
Again the day finishes with an eclectic selection of Round-Tables including: Networking for Career Success, Yacht Security Measures, Onboard Training, Matriculation Tax and Spanish Chartering, Crew Interview Techniques and MLC in Relation to Superyachts.
Sponsored cocktail parties are scheduled for the end of both days courtesy of Jotun Iberica on Day 1, and Port Adriano (at their superyacht marina in El Toro) with FREE transport provided on Day 2.
