Good luck to Sir Ben Ainslie and his team, who are competing in Act 1 of the Extreme 40 World Series Regatta starting tomorrow in Singapore.
The island’s Marina Bay which has become famous as the backdrop for the Formula 1 Grand Prix floodlit races, was alive today with just about every significant sailor in the world out there, tuning up on one of zippy high performance Extreme 40 catamarans. These boats bring an adrenalin rush to even the most seasoned regatta campaigner, and are likely to bring sailing more into the spotlight as an exciting spectator sport, as the series unfolds around the planet this year…
